Gitarrspelet kokar och kvinnorna rodnar

  Grand final! I dag efter 18 avsnitt tar vi avsked av musikinstrumenten. Saxofonen är utan tvivel mitt favoritinstrument, men gitarren kommer inte långt efter. Jag har redan skrivit om B.B. King och hans bluesgitarr. I kväll blir det lite grann av samma andas barn. Avstampet tas i ett videoklipp som enligt min musiksmak är det häftigaste som Youtube kan erbjuda. Det 100 minuter långa sammanhanget avslutas med den här mannen.

  Efter sju minuter och 51 sekunder, direkt efter "The road to hell", bjuder klippet på Jeff Beck's gitarrspel i den instrumentala "Brush with the blues". Den ingick i albumet "Who Else!" som släpptes 1999 på skivbolaget Epic Records. Ska vi prata riff, så är det bara förnamnet till denna "elektro-orgasm". På albumet (och i klippet) introduceras Jennifer Batten.

  De två avslutande spåren är riktigt bra. Efter 1 timme och 26 minuter träder George Thorogood (f. 1951) fram och bränner av "Bad to the bone". Det är en låt som hämtat inspiration från Bo Diddley's sång "I'm a man" från 1955. Lägg för guds skull märke till saxofonens delaktighet.

  Sen har vi nått Carlos Santana, efter 1 timme och 34 minuter. Då spelar han den ljuvliga instrumentala "Samba Pa Ti" med sin unika mix av latinamerikansk blues- och rockmusik. Delaktig i framgångarna med Black Magic Woman och Samba Pa Ti, på albumet "Abraxas", var Peter Green, som bland annat såg till att två ofärdiga verk blev till "Samba Pa Ti".
