Grupp 2, Dag 4
Jag blev väldigt förtjust i den irakiska poeten Sinan Antoon's dikt "Phantasmagoria". Jag gav den 5+7 poäng och därmed toppar han listan för grupp 2. Silver till David Manicom, Canada och brons till den enkla moders-dikten, signerad Elaine Warren Jacobs från Jungfruöarna.

Every two nights
before Christmas
I watch my mother make paper flowers
Crimp edges
Place finger tipped designs
onto crepe paper.
Roses are my favorite
Jumbie-bead red, burnt orange,
sea grape purple,
delicate coco plum white.
I like to see her cut and curl petals
Cup their middles with her thumbs
arrange them tight around
the veins of coconut fronds

with your Museum of Calligraphy
blue biro is the way the waves keep lifting
the giraffe-skin pattern of sunlight
they themselves form on the floor of the sandy
shallows, and projecting it up the beach
towards your lounger, then withdrawing,
taking it back, retracting hissingly,
and there, the pattern is there again.
